Our retailer on speaking with Vango said this is the design of the SIG. The sewn in groundsheet seemed to soak up the water like a sponge over a large area though it didnt seem to be coming through totally. When we removed carpet rainwater had tracked under tent as it was windy and had got between footprint and groundsheet and had soaked into the thin groundsheet. We used the footprint but on day 2 after a morning of rain we noticed the carpet was wet. The area we were disappointed with the tent was the sewn in groundsheet. The tent comes with a groundsheet in the porch area but this doesn't line up with pegging points on tent front. All guylines were out and the beams themselves seemed solid just the fabric flapping about especially the open front porch area. The tent light we had clipped to the central beam we had to take down as it was swinging about too much to use. Tent seemed to be moving about in the wind much more than the steel poled tunnel tent pitched next to us, but we expected this to be the case.
We used the TBS bands.It did flap about a lot more than our Outwell montana. The carpet had a hole in it but retailer exchanged it straight away no issues.
This years model has the 420d material which feels thick and of good quality. We like the overall design of the tent, lots of space and light. We bought this mainly for the ease of pitching. Other features include pre-attached orange guys with guyline retainers, inner mesh doors, 'Crystal Clear' windows with inner covers and zip-out option, mesh vents, flysheet first pitching, wheeled roller bag. The inner tents also features part mesh doors, a detachable inner divider (so you can split the 4-berth inner into two) and light reducing inner fabric to reduce early morning light. It features a fully sewn-in polyester groundsheet in the living area and a breathable fabric inner tent which also has its own polyester groundsheet and easy find inner clips. The flysheet is a high quality, embossed polyester with 6000mm hydrostatic head waterproof protection. Everything is pre-attached, the AirBeam tubes, groundsheet and flysheet and so there's no preparation or assembly required. Then simply peg out the guys and you are ready to go. Vango AirBeam tents are easy to pitch - simply peg out each corner of the tent in place and then inflate the AirBeam inflatable inner tubes with the Vango AirBeam pump (supplied) and the tent effectively pitches itself. Like the Tigris Range (without the stripes and big teeth), the Infinity Range also features Vango's internal TBS (Tension Band System) which allows you to tension the tent from inside in inclement weather conditions. The Vango Infinity 600 is loosely based on the Vango Tigris 600 - a simple four 'beam' tunnel tent with a 4+2 berth sleeping arrangement, excellent head height throughout, a generous living area with front and side doorways leading off it.
